ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) it is a form of DSL, a data communications technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines.
Simply put it is fast internet.
A splitter - or micro-filter - allows a single telephone connection to be used for both ADSL service and voice calls at the same time.
Data carried by the ADSL is routed over the Telkom's data network and eventually reaches a conventional internet network.

Therefore ADSL packages are subject to a Telkom Digital Subscriber Line rental.
